About Grady H. Williams
Grady H. Williams Jr. combines accounting, regulation and tax education in a long professional legal career that spans enterprise and elder law. He started his academic path at Florida State University's School of Business, earning a B.S. in Accounting in 1976. He then took his Juris Doctor from The University of Georgia School of Law in 1979 and further a LL.M. in Taxation from the University of Florida in 1991.
Those credentials led to early work in Dallas, where he joined Haynes and Boone as an affiliate in 1982. He moved into in-residence roles later in the decade, serving as affiliate general counsel on the Baptist Foundation of Texas and as vice president and affiliate general counsel for the Advocacy Resource Center of Texas in 1987. That aggregate of outdoor company and in-house counsel experience gave him publicity to institutional finance and regulatory problems.
In 1991 he returned to private practice in Florida and have become managing lawyer of Grady H. Williams, Jr., LL.M., Lawyers at Law, P.A. His accounting background and advanced tax study tell the manner he approaches client things. He has treated issues that touch on taxation, estates and making plans—regions where technical tax information and practical case strategy intersect.
Williams has maintained professional ties in both Texas and Florida. He used to be licensed to the State Bar of Texas in 1982 and used to be licensed there thru 1995. He joined The Florida Bar in 1991 and remains a member. His bar memberships take a seat alongside long-status involvement in local and countrywide teams, including the American Bar Association, the Jacksonville Bar Association and the Clay County Bar Association.
Community work is a visible part of his profile. He has served as a judge for Clay County Teen Court since 2008. In the academy that handles senior law in Florida, he has been a board and executive committee member of the Academy of Florida Elder Law Lawyers since 2016. Those roles mirror steady engagement with both expert friends and local civic establishments.
Today he practices from workplaces in St. Augustine and Hampton Park and continues to manage things that draw on his tax education and years of counsel knowledge. His current practice makes a speciality of elder law, tax-associated things and estate making plans.
