About Frances A.
Frances A. DeThomas earned her J.D. from the Elisabeth Haub School of Law at Pace University in 1996. She followed law program with bar admissions that consist of New York and the bar of the U.S. Supreme Court. Her legal training within the mid-Nineteen Nineties set the stage for a career centered in Westchester County and the surrounding area.
She joined Tyre & DeThomas, P.C. early in her career and have become a principal lawyer in 1999. That role put her in a position to shape legal strategy and guide more youthful lawyers. Over the years she has handled litigation and court work as well as client counseling and bargaining. Colleagues describe her as steady under pressure and attentive to procedural element.
Much of her expert involvement has been tied to household law. She has served on government committees that tackle household regulation issues at both the county and state bar ranges. Those committee roles have given her exposure to reforms, regulation changes, and continuing legal education packages that affect household regulation practice in New York. She has also worked on matters that counsel frequently come upon in domestic relations practice, including contested hearings and negotiated settlements.
Her bar association exercise is longstanding. She has been a member of the New York State Bar Association since 1999 and has served on its Family Law Section government committee. Since 1999 she has additionally belonged to the Westchester Women’s Bar Association and has served as its vice chairman. In 2015 she joined the Westchester County Bar Association and has participated on its Family Law Section executive committee. Those roles reflect continuous involvement in local and statewide professional circles rather than ceremonial membership.
At Tyre & DeThomas, P.C., she has continued to control a caseload whilst participating in bar packages and nearby legal initiatives. Her day-to-day work combines court appearances, client conferences, drafting, and settlement negotiations. She keeps an office presence in Westchester County and remains lively in the professional associations that touch family law practice.
She currently practices household law at Tyre & DeThomas, PC.
