About Eric K.

Eric K. Fox blends legal background with a diverse educational background. He earned a J.D. from Georgetown University Law Center in 1999, where his research included estate making plans and litigation along common practice coursework. Before law school he finished undergraduate work on the University of California, Berkeley, graduating in 1989 with research in rhetoric, peace and clash studies, and song.

He moved into practice work after law school and has led his own office for two decades. Since 2003 he has served because the managing lawyer on the Law Office of Eric K. Fox. That position has put him in daily touch with clients and courts, and it has shaped his practical strategy to casework and attorney-client communication.

Court admissions include the Tennessee state bar, the United States District Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, and the United States Bankruptcy Court for the Middle District of Tennessee. Those admissions align with the strands of his practice. His work routinely involves consumer insolvency things, estate making plans problems, and litigation that grows out of these regions.

Fox’s expert affiliations reflect the mix of transactional and legal proceedings work in his practice. He has been a member of the National Association of Consumer Bankruptcy Lawyers since 2008. He joined the American Bar Association and the Tennessee Bar Association in 2007 and has belonged to the Sumner County Bar Association since 2004. He has also been lively in faith-based legal circles; he served as treasurer of the Christian Legal Society Greater Nashville from 2016 to 2017 and remains concerned with the team.

Colleagues and clients describe him as methodical in preparing cases and plainspoken when explaining options. He keeps a continuous calendar of things that range from drafting estate documents to representing individuals in insolvency hearings and related contested things. He handles filings and hearings in federal insolvency and district courts, and he works in state judiciary when legal proceedings turns to estate administration or creditor-debtor disputes.

Over the years Fox has mixed courtroom work with the daily duties of operating a small law workplace. That combination means he spends time each on legal strategy and at the administrative aspect of practice control. He continues to control his firm and to take on cases that mirror his knowledge in consumer bankruptcy, estate planning, and legal proceedings.

He practices at the Law Office of Eric K. Fox, handling consumer bankruptcy, property making plans and related litigation.
