About E.J.
E.J. Hubbs earned a B.A. in psychology from the University of Tennessee, Knoxville in 2005 and a J.D. from the University of Memphis Cecil C. Humphreys School of Law in 2008. Those years set the stage for a profession constructed round court work. He moved shortly from law program into positions that gave him exposure to each prosecution and protection.
His early legal knowledge included a judicial regulation clerkship at the Shelby County Courthouse in 2007. After receiving his Juris Doctor, he served as an assistant public defender in Hamilton County in 2008. He later took roles as an assistant state lawyer in Blount County and in Hillsborough County in 2010. Those roles provided trial experience on both sides of felony matters and a continuous stream of contested courtroom appearances.
Hubbs is board certified in Criminal Trial Law by the Florida Bar. He is admitted to practice in Florida and earlier than the United States Court of Appeals for the Eleventh Circuit. That combination of credentials reflects time spent in front of juries and judges across trial courts and on appeal. His background consists of repeated court roles, which inform how he prepares instances and handles proof at trial.
Outside of the courtroom he maintains memberships in several expert organizations. He is a member of the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Florida Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, the latter since 2015. He also holds memberships in Business Networking International and in the United States District Court for the Southern District of Florida, each indexed as active since 2015. These affiliations maintain him connected to friends in felony protection and the broader legal network.
Hubbs practices at Hubbs Law, P.A. He has experience working as each prosecutor and criminal defense lawyer, and as a public defender, which contributes to a practical perspective on felony legal proceedings. He concentrates his current practice on felony protection and trial work.
