David Wendlinger earned his law degree from Valparaiso University School of Law in 2002 after completing a B.B.A. in International Business and Economics at Northwood University in 1999. The educational series introduced him to transactional work and the regulatory side of business. Those early interests display up many times within the positions he took after commencement.
He began his professional legal career in 2003 at LaSalle Business Credit, where he counseled on commercial lending matters and credit-related transactions. In 2006 he moved into underwriting work at Fidelity National Financial. That position kept him at the corporate and insurance-adjoining aspect of the law, handling title and underwriting issues for a countrywide firm.
In 2009 Wendlinger shifted gears and served as a deputy prosecutor in the Lake County Prosecutor's Office. The prosecutorial post further trial experience and work on felony filings and case preparation. It also gave him a better look at local courtroom procedures and the practical demands of trial-ready litigation.
By 2011 he joined Funk & Wendlinger, LLC as an attorney. He has maintained a personal practice presence since then. He holds memberships in the Indiana State Bar and the Lake County Bar Association, the latter since 2010. His expert path crosses both public and private sectors. That blend informs how he strategies client things and danger evaluation.
Wendlinger is certified to practice in Illinois and Indiana. He has treated matters that draw on his background in business lending, underwriting, and public prosecution.
