David Fitzsimons built his legal foundation at Washington College after which earned a J.D. from Dickinson School of Law in 1984. He took the conventional route from law school into practice and has maintained an active presence in Pennsylvania courts and federal boards since.
Early in his profession Fitzsimons targeting legal proceedings. He moved through courtroom practice into roles that demanded now not solely advocacy but additionally dispute resolution abilities. Over the years he has argued things within the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Third Circuit and has been admitted to practice before the U.S. Supreme Court. He is also admitted in Pennsylvania and in numerous federal district courts, including the Eastern and Middle Districts of Pennsylvania and the Eastern District of Wisconsin.
Fitzsimons is a shareholder at Martson Law Offices. In that role he handles both trials and opportunity dispute decision. Colleagues describe him as steady in courtroom and deliberate in resolution settings. He has served clients in civil legal proceedings throughout a range of problems and has moved between advocacy and facilitated negotiation relying on what every case required.
His involvement in bar organizations has been sustained and sundry. He holds current memberships within the American Bar Association, the Cumberland County Bar Association and the Dauphin County Bar Association. He serves as Vice Chair of the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Committee on Legal Ethics and Professional Responsibility, and he sits at the Pennsylvania Bar Association’s Alternative Dispute Resolution Committee. Locally he chairs the Cumberland County Bar Association’s alternative dispute resolution and Fee Dispute Committee.
A long-standing player in Inns of Court things to do, Fitzsimons is Master Emeritus of the James S. Bowman American Inn of Court in Harrisburg and continues as a Master of the Cumberland County Inn of Court in Carlisle. He is also a member of mediator panels for federal and county courts, including the Certified Mediator Panels of the U.S. District Court for the Middle District of Pennsylvania, the Cumberland County Bar Association Panel of Mediators and Arbitrators, and the Dauphin County Bar Association Mediators Panel.
Peers see him as someone who moves without problems between contested hearings and negotiated settlements. He has balanced court work with committee management and mediation service for many years. He presently practices at Martson Law Offices, concentrating on civil legal proceedings, facilitated negotiation and arbitration things.
