David Black earned his Juris Doctor from Villanova University School of Law in 1976 after finishing a Bachelor of Arts in English Literature at Temple University in 1971. His educational trail mixed close textual analysis and argumentation in the humanities with formal legal training. Those early years set the tone for a continuous career in the legal profession.

He has practiced in Pennsylvania for many years and keeps a lively professional presence in the state.
