About Dathan

When Dathan Weems graduated from Trinity University in 1998 he moved to New Mexico to pursue regulation. He completed his legal research at the University of New Mexico, earning a J.D. in 2002. Those years shaped the start of a professional legal career that has stayed rooted in the state.

Weems has spent more than 20 years working as an attorney in New Mexico. Early in his career he treated a mix of matters that gave him experience both in court and at the bargaining desk. Over time he based a personal practice and expanded its reach to serve clients in multiple groups.

He operates the Dathan Weems Law Office from locations in Farmington and Albuquerque. The workplaces mirror diverse client wants. The Farmington workplace serves an in large part regional clientele, whilst the Albuquerque office provides access in the state’s large urban marketplace. Maintaining two offices allows him to satisfy humans the place they live and to maintain a continuous presence in distinct components of the state.

Colleagues and clients describe Weems as methodical and direct. He favors clear explanations of legal avenues. Courtroom work and out-of-court resolutions each play roles in his practice. He tends to approach cases by weighing realistic outcomes against legal risk, and he prepares every topic to give clients practical selections.

Over the years he has balanced casework with operating a small company. That has meant supervising help staff, managing client intake, and dealing with the administrative and ethical duties of personal practice. The work at the back of the scenes has formed how the offices are prepared and how instances pass from initial interview to resolution.

Weems’s background — a liberal arts diploma followed by a law degree from a state university — is conventional of many that practice locally. He has built a practice this is familiar with New Mexico’s courts and legal network. He has stayed in practice lengthy enough to recognize how local guidelines and relationships have an effect on outcomes, and he draws on that familiarity when advising clients.

He currently practices from workplaces in Farmington and Albuquerque, dealing with a range of legal matters for local clients.
