Cory Hicks earned his Juris Doctor from the University of Oklahoma College of Law in 1999 after finishing a bachelor’s degree in history and faith at Oklahoma Baptist University in 1993. Soon following law school, Hicks began practicing in Oklahoma. Early in his professional life he joined the Luther Bohannon Inn of Court for the 2001–2002 term, an experience that positioned him along judges and fellow practitioners in collegial study and expert improvement. He later participated within the Oklahoma Bar Association Leadership Academy at some point of 2008–2009, a software designed to prepare lawyers for roles in bar service and community management.
Hicks has a steady document of civic and academic roles. From 2008 to 2013 he served as an adjunct professor of business law at Oklahoma Panhandle State University, coaching business-related legal concepts to undergraduate students. He served on the Guymon Chamber of Commerce board of directors from 2008 through 2014, holding each the presidency for two years and the treasurer role for two years, and participating within the chamber’s budget committee.
Since 2014 Hicks has been concerned with the Guymon Ambassadors, a company focused on community promotion and events.
