About Cory B.
Cory B. Chartrand entered law program after finishing an undergraduate degree in international family members at Brigham Young University. He graduated from BYU in 1990 with a minor in German and went on to earn a law degree from the University of the Pacific, McGeorge School of Law in 1993. During law program he took part within the International Moot Court and spent time in the International Law Program at the University of Salzburg, Austria, experiences that broadened his publicity to cross-border legal matters and comparative law.
He started his professional legal career in 1993 as a legal proceedings lawyer at Thayer, Harvey & Gregerson. Those early years were spent in courtroom and within the preparation that precedes trial work. He treated civil litigation things and built practical abilities in case preparation, evidence-gathering process, and court process. The role gave him a foundation in adversarial practice and the realities of managing contested things for clients.
In 2001 Chartrand became a shareholder at Triebsch & Frampton, APC. As a shareholder he took on greater duty for legal strategy and for supervising legal proceedings groups. His role combined casework with company-degree responsibilities, and he remained lively in managing complex files and guiding more junior lawyers through litigation tasks and court practice.
In 2019 he moved to an of counsel role at Fores Macko Johnston. That transition reflected a change in how he engaged with client matters and colleagues. In the of counsel capacity he has been called on for case evaluations, appellate matters, and mentoring lawyers in litigation preparation. The title also allowed him to balance continued court involvement with consultative work on hard legal issues.
Chartrand’s academic background in worldwide relations and his study in Austria add a dimension to his practice. He speaks to worldwide legal principles and has a familiarity with German language and tradition from his undergraduate studies. Those elements inform how he approaches instances that contact on cross-border or comparative issues, and that they enrich his perspective on litigation approach.
He is licensed to practice law in California and keeps a lively role in private practice. As of 2026 he serves as senior advisor at Fores Macko Johnston and practices in California, handling legal proceedings and associated dispute work.
