About Christopher D

Christopher D. Cavazos took a practical path into regulation. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Government from the University of Texas at Austin in 2003, then continued at St. Mary’s University School of Law, receiving his J.D. in 2005. Those years set the technical basis for a career spent largely in Texas courtrooms.

He started public service early. In 2004 he served as a felony prosecutor at the Atascosa County Lawyers Office. That role put him behind the government’s table and in front of judges and juries. The knowledge formed his courtroom approach and gave him firsthand publicity to case preparation under pressure.

After law school he opened the Law Office of Christopher D. Cavazos in 2005. That company was his base for years, where he handled matters springing up in state courts and built a trial practice. In 2019 he took on a new position as an attorney at Barrera, Cavazos & Powers Law, joining a group that expanded the variety of matters he treated and uncovered him to more complicated casework.

Throughout his career he has kept robust ties to the nearby bar. He holds an executive club within the Atascosa Bar Association, a position that keeps him connected to county courts and the local bench. That involvement has also intended regular interaction with prosecutors, protection attorneys and judges across South Texas.

Cavazos’s work has centered on criminal things. His years as a prosecutor give him perception into how instances unfold from the state’s perspective. His years in private practice have put him on the other aspect of those identical files — checking out proof, difficult procedure and advocating for clients. He has treated arraignments, pretrial proceedings and jury trials, and he brings that realistic trial experience to each new case.

His professional journey displays steady motion between public service and private practice. He has operated his personal practice, joined a regional firm, and maintains workplace affiliations with BRCK Criminal Defense Lawyers. That mix of settings has let him advise clients in rural counties as well as in more populated components of Texas.

He is licensed to practice in Texas and stays lively in nearby legal circles. He now handles criminal protection matters at BRCK Criminal Defense Lawyers, representing clients in state courts throughout Texas.
