About Camila Alexandra
Camila Alexandra McElwain earned her J.D. from the University of Mississippi in 2013. Her path into regulation mixed early practical experience and army service. Before law school she served as a sergeant in the U.S. Army Reserve in 2000, a position that preceded her first legal help role in 2006.
Her early legal work covered a stint as a legal clerk at Harrison Law Office, PLLC in 2006. That experience was observed by a role as Law Clerk II for the First Chancery Court District of Mississippi in 2011. Those roles placed her inside courtroom operations and the day-to-day work of trial preparation at some point of a formative period of her career.
After finishing law program, she joined The Law Offices of Brian L. Starling, PA as an associate attorney in 2013. The affiliate role came on the start of her admitted practice and provided exposure to client representation and legal proceedings practice in the state. She maintained professional ties to statewide and countrywide bar organizations from early in her professional life.
McElwain holds memberships in numerous expert institutions. She has been a member of the Mississippi Bar Association since 2013 and joined the American Bar Association the same year. Beginning in 2014 she became affiliated with the American Immigration Lawyers Association and the Mississippi Volunteer Lawyers Project, both of which she continues to list as current memberships. She is authorized to practice in Mississippi and is licensed to appear before the U.S. Court of Appeals for the Fifth Circuit.
Her career displays a continuous development from clerkships and help roles into complete practice. The blend of chancery courtroom experience, personal-company work and bar affiliation involvement informs how she approaches cases. Colleagues and clients see her as someone who understands procedural detail and courtroom rhythm.
She now practices at McElwain Law Office, LLC. Her current work at the firm includes immigration matters and related civil case work.
