About Bryan Thomas
Bryan Thomas Kroes studied psychology and criminal justice on the University of Wisconsin–Milwaukee before earning his law degree from Marquette University Law School. He mixed those academic interests early on, approaching legal issues with awareness to human behavior and the practical realities of regulated industries. His education laid a foundation for work that crosses traditional practice lines and involves stakeholders from several sectors.
He constructed a tradition in Wisconsin that draws on a mix of amusement, structure and event-associated matters. Memberships and professional affiliations mirror that mix. Over time he has taken on roles that go past personal client work and into expert community-constructing, assisting to bridge gaps among artists, producers, developers and municipal stakeholders.
Kroes helped discovered the Wisconsin Entertainment Lawyers Association in 2019 and continues to serve on its board as treasurer. He has been a member of the American Bar Association and its Forum on the Entertainment and Sports Industry since 2018, and of nearby trade teams including the Metropolitan Builders Association and the Milwaukee chapter of the National Association of the Remodeling Industry. He also keeps membership in the Event Safety Alliance, a more recent affiliation that aligns with the protection and logistics problems that can arise in live occasions and public venues.
He has held several network board positions as nicely. From 2016 to 2019 he served at the board of the Mitchell Street Development Opportunities Corporation. Earlier, he used to be a board member of Historic Milwaukee, Inc. from 2014 to 2016. Those stints gave him hands-on experience with neighborhood improvement, preservation worries and the kinds of regulatory and contractual issues that often land on an attorney’s table.
Kroes practices at Hurtado Zimmerman SC in Milwaukee, the place he continues to work on things connected to entertainment and the constructed surroundings. His day-to-day work involves counseling clients on legal and practical questions that arise at the intersection of events, venues and construction-associated projects. He maintains an active role in local and national associations related to the ones fields, and continues to stability client work with board service and industry participation. His current practice focuses on media and entertainment law, structure and remodeling enterprise things, and event safety problems.
