About Brandon S.

Brandon S. Dornbusch grew up reading history and languages before turning to regulation. He earned a B.A. in records and Mandarin Chinese from Michigan State University in 2007. He went directly to obtain his J.D. from Case Western Reserve University School of Law in 2011.

He started his professional legal career in Michigan quickly following law school. In 2012 he joined Stowe Legal Group, PLC as an associate and senior advisor, work that immersed him in probate and senior law matters. He moved to Legacy Legal Group, PLC in 2014, taking over a broader legal proceedings and making plans caseload. In 2017 he became an associate at Bowerman, Bowden, Ford, Clulo & Luyt, P.C., where he persisted representing clients in estate making plans and probate matters.

In 2020 he opened his own practice. As principal of Brandon S. Dornbusch, PLC, he handles person and family matters related to wills, trusts, management of estates and long-time period care making plans. He has treated contested and uncontested probate matters, and prepares making plans documents meant to deal with incapacity and transfer of assets. His work frequently intersects with problems that affect older adults and those with disabilities.

He holds a certification in estate administration and property making plans from the Institute of Continuing Legal Education. That training supplements realistic knowledge in wills, trusts and estate settlement. He is active in professional teams that address aging, disability and estate administration law.

His affiliation memberships mirror that emphasis. He has belonged to the State Bar of Michigan013 Estate Planning and Probate Section since 2013, joined the State Bar of Michigan018 Elder Law and Disability Rights Section in 2018, and became a member of the Estate Planning Council of the Grand Traverse Area in 2019. He additionally holds club within the National Association of Elder Law Attorneys starting in 2020.

Colleagues describe him as methodical in making ready files and attentive in client interviews. He has represented Executors, Trustees and household members in regimen probates and in contested settings where accounting and fiduciary duties were at problem. His practice combines drafting and advisory work with trial experience when litigation is important.

He is certified to practice in Michigan and bases his practice in his personal firm. He currently practices at Brandon S. Dornbusch, PLC, concentrating on estate planning, probate and senior law.
