Blaine E Cartlidge has constructed a legal career that moves between court work and workplace counsel roles. He has occupied positions in public service and personal practice over numerous decades. Those shifts give him a broad view of how disputes resolve and how local government handles civil claims.
Early in his profession he served as a regulation clerk to Washoe County District Court Judge William Forman in 1988. That yr on the trial courtroom bench offered an interior look at case management, draft opinions and the realistic rhythm of trials. Clerking for a district pass judgement on helped form his strategy to legal proceedings and legal drafting.
The subsequent year he entered personal practice. Beginning in 1989 he labored as an associate, later as a companion and eventually in solo practice. Those years in private firms and operating his own practice exposed him to client counseling, discovery, pretrial motions and settlement negotiations. He represented private clients throughout a range of civil matters and discovered the executive aspect of running a law office.
In 2001 he moved into the general public sector as a Senior Deputy District Lawyer in the Washoe County District Attorney’s Civil Division. In that position he handled civil legal proceedings for the county and advised on civil claims involving local government. The position required coordinating with county departments, making ready pleadings and appearing in courtroom on behalf of the public entity.
In 2016 he started operating beneath the Cartlidge Law Office name and continues to practice beneath that banner. His work through the years has combined court appearances and client counseling. He attracts on knowledge from the bench, private partnerships and the civil division of the district attorney’s workplace when preparing instances or negotiating settlements.
Today he practices from Cartlidge Law Office. His recent practice focuses on civil litigation and general civil matters.
