About Benjamin
Benjamin Gray built his trail to law on a foundation in verbal exchange and court work. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in Communication from Truman State University, then went directly to obtain a J.D. from the University of Missouri–Columbia. Those research framed a career that moved quickly from county courthouses to personal practice.
He began his legal career in public service. In 2003 he served as an assistant prosecuting lawyer in Cape Girardeau County, Missouri. That position involved day-to-day courtroom work, case preparation and interactions with regulation enforcement and victims. He returned to county prosecution in 2005 as an assistant prosecuting lawyer for Scott County, the place he treated similar responsibilities and gained additional trial experience.
Gray shifted to personal practice in 2006 when he joined Rice, Spaeth, Summers & Heisserer, LC as an associate. There he worked on matters typical of a mid-size firm, which includes litigation and client counseling. The role broadened his exposure to civil practice and the procedural needs of contested cases outside the criminal docket.
In 2009 he founded Benjamin J. Gray, LLC. Since then he has operated his own practice, representing clients in state and federal settings. He is licensed to practice in Missouri and before the Federal Circuit. That aggregate of admissions lets in him to seem in Missouri courts and to take on cases that attain the federal appellate degree.
Colleagues describe Gray as an attorney who moves between roles without problems — prosecutor, associate, and solo practitioner — and who draws on courtroom experience when advising clients. He handles things from preliminary filings through hearings and trials, and he has managed both investigatory and adversarial phases of instances. He approaches each topic with an eye toward procedure and realistic outcomes rather than rhetorical flourish. His practice covers things in Missouri and cases before the Federal Circuit.
