About Anthony Hudson

Anthony Hudson Gemma built a legal foundation in Boston classrooms. He earned a B.A. from Boston College in 1984 and a J.D. from Boston College Law School in 1988. He later pursued advanced study in taxation, completing a LL.M. in Taxation at Boston University School of Law.

He has practiced in Massachusetts since earning his J.D. and is admitted to practice earlier than the U.S. Court of Appeals for the First Circuit. In 2006 he took on the title of president at Gemma Law Office, P.C., where he oversees the firm’s things and its day-to-day operations. His work there draws on years of court and transactional experience in state and federal settings.

Beyond his firm duties, Gemma participates in professional governance and technical committees. Since 2019 he has been a member of the Massachusetts Bar Association Elder Law Advisory Committee. He additionally joined the Massachusetts Bar Association Probate Law Section Council in 2019. Those memberships put him in ordinary touch with colleagues who manage senior law and estate administration throughout the state and provide a discussion board for discussing practical and procedural problems that affect practitioners and clients.

His academic training in taxation shapes a part of his practice. He handles estate administration and property matters that increase tax questions and works on planning issues where state and federal tax regulations intersect. He represents clients in document drafting, estate settlement, and matters that require coordination among probate proceedings and tax recommendation. Admittance to the First Circuit means he can represent clients on appeals and in federal tax controversies when matters move past the trial level.

Colleagues and clients see him maximum often on cases involving senior law protections, estate administration administrations, and estate planning that includes tax considerations. At the firm he balances advisory work with legal proceedings and administrative duties. He keeps a realistic approach to resolving disputes and completing estate administrations, relying on both his lengthy knowledge in Massachusetts practice and his specialized tax education.

He serves as president of Gemma Law Office, P.C., and maintains a practice that concentrates on elder law, estate administration and property matters, and tax-associated problems.
