About Ann L.
Ann L. Fisher built a legal career that spans private practice, in-house work and bar management. She earned a B.S. from Oregon State University in 1975 and went on to obtain her J.D. from Willamette University College of Law in 1983. Those academic steps set the stage for a steady progression through law firms and corporate legal departments in the Pacific Northwest.
Fresh out of law school Fisher began her practice as an affiliate at Lane Powell PC in 1983. She moved to Greene and Markley in 1985 and gained further trial and transactional knowledge there. By 1988 she had taken on an in-residence role as Assistant General Counsel at Portland General Electric, the place she worked on regulatory, contract and company problems for the utility. That shift to corporate practice knowledgeable much of her later work.
In the early Nineteen Nineties Fisher returned to firm work as Of Counsel at Schwabe Williamson & Wyatt, a role she held beginning in 1993. She later founded AF Legal & Consulting Services LLC in 1996, a step toward impartial practice. Today she keeps an office under the call Ann Fisher Law and handles matters for clients across state and federal forums.
Fisher is admitted to practice in Oregon and Washington and has credentials in numerous federal courts. Her admissions include the U.S. District Court for the District of Oregon, the U.S. District Courts for the Eastern and Western Districts of Washington, the Ninth Circuit and the Federal Circuit. Those admissions have allowed her to symbolize clients in both trial and appellate matters within the area.
Her involvement in bar organizations has been sustained over many years. Fisher was a member of the Oregon State Bar Board of Governors from 2007 to 2012 and served as chair of the Oregon State Bar’s Corporate Counsel Section in 2016. She holds memberships within the Washington State Bar Association, the Multnomah County Bar Association and the Washington County Bar Association, and has been lively in the American Bar Association.
Colleagues and clients have looked to Fisher for realistic counsel rooted in experience both outside and inside personal firms. Her profession path — from affiliate to in-house counsel to of counsel and then solo practitioner — displays a range of practice settings and responsibilities. She continues to practice from her office within the Pacific Northwest. Her recent practice concentrates on company and business matters.
