About Amy J.
Amy J. Osborne constructed a career at the intersection of law, public coverage and education. She earned a B.A. in political science and records from Franklin College in 2004 after starting her undergraduate research at Manchester College. She later returned to the classroom for law school, completing a J.D. at Indiana University Robert H. McKinney School of Law in 2018.
Her early work took her into state government nearly immediately. In 2004 she served as a government assistant in the Indiana Secretary of State’s office. That entry-level role ended in a series of policy and software posts over the next decade. She directed packages for School Choice Indiana in 2006 and labored as a legal analyst for the Indiana Public Access Counselor in 2007. Her duties there involved public history and open meetings problems, a knowledge that informed later roles.
Osborne moved into schooling policy in 2009 as a coverage analyst and TIF grant director at the Indiana Department of Education. The position exposed her to high school funding mechanics and administrative grant processes. In 2013 she returned to the Secretary of State’s office as deputy communications director, where she treated messaging and outreach at some point of a hectic duration for the workplace.
In 2015 she joined the Indiana Charter School Board as assistant director of purposes. That position required evaluate of charter purposes and coordination with educational stakeholders. In 2018 she transitioned into private practice as an associate attorney at Allen Wellman McNew Harvey, LLP. In that ability she applied her governmental and education experience to symbolize clients in things touching public businesses and administrative proceedings.
Osborne has maintained ties to community and youth packages throughout her career. She has served on the advisory team for the YMCA Youth and Government Program since 2017 and joined the Hancock County Community Foundation Women’s Fund committee in 2018. Earlier volunteer work included a longer term with Hoosier Girls State from 2000 till 2015. She also finished the Richard G. Lugar Excellence in Public Service Series in 2008.
